      Yeah, my family structure is different.  My husband has 4 wives plus me.  My relationship with GF predates joining the big family.  She married my husband in 2018, and my relationship with him started after that.  I was in lesbian girl-form at the beginning, and GF has been intermittently OK and less-than-thrilled with my boy form.    My transition has been minimal. Some wardrobe change, shorter hairstyle, and a couple of other things.  It shouldn't be a big deal to her either way, but I'm not entirely free to make my own choices.

      Sooner or later the Supreme Court is going to have to address some trans-related cases, stop being a bunch of chickens and actually make some rulings.  For better or worse, it would at least stop the guessing, backtracking, and chaos.

      Hi everyone!   I'm Andéa. I only allowed myself to accept who I truly am this January. I'm in my late 30s, MTF, and it feels like I'm starting life over again.    There's a large number of difficulties that I'm facing with this, the biggest one is that I'm married to a cisgender hetero woman who is not exactly on board. She's accepting of this as a fact, however she is struggling with me actually wanting to transition. It's only been a few months since I came out to her. I came out almost immediately after figuring this out and accepting it my own self, but I of course have had 30+ years to sit with this and accept it, and she's only had 3ish months.    As of right now I haven't done much in the way of transition just due to not wanting to drive my partner away, but some things I have explored is some more feminine clothing, I'm growing my hair out, and have started painting my nails. Not much, I know, and if I wasn't trying to keep my partner in my life in a romantic sense I'd already be well into the process of, or have already had obtained HRT. All in due time. I want to dive head first into this, but I've got a swimming partner that needs to be able to tread water first at least.   I haven't found much of a community where I live, and I really want to connect with people in the LGBTQ community now that I've accepted that I am part of it, so I was super happy to have found this space!    I'm a bit shy, but I'm trying to come out of my shell a little bit more, so if I'm socially awkward I ask forgiveness.   Not sure what else to write here, so a bit more about me.   I'm a huge nerd and a gamer. I play on PC and play stuff like Warframe, Monster Hunter, and am experimenting with Final Fantasy 14 to see if it's my jam or not.   I love music, and have a wide range of styles I like. All the way from Lady Gaga to Scandinavian Death Metal to Japanese Hipster Pop (still not sure how to classify some of the stuff I've found).   Also, if you want to type out the e with the little hat and you're on Windows, it's ALT+0233 :)

      If we're talking good news and wins, how about WA State legislature allowing for 12-month prescriptions of all non-controlled hormones (estradiol, progesterone, puberty blockers, etc.)!   https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary/?BillNumber=1971&Year=2025&Initiative=false   Sadly there are downsides: testosterone is a controlled substance, but must be covered in its maximal prescription length (presently 90 days); and it won't be enacted until 1/1/2026.   Still, a win is a win!

      I completely missed this thread, @Joanne Grace but I am so happy to have found it today! It's so wonderful you've been supported at work, it's heartening especially with the news du jour over there. Absolutely love it!

      Thank you all for your response. I did come out today. On Facebook of all places 🙄 The overwhelming response was one of support. No one seemed surprised. I wanted to come out on birthday, don't know why. It just seemed fitting.  Next week will be the challenge as I am on holiday this week. Most of my colleagues know but some aren't on Facebook so. I don't know if they know. Plus it means facing the public (I work in retail. But if people don't like it they can do one. I am me and that is all that metters!

      @Charlize is it on NETFLIX?

      @Trina I am not VA, I am retired military under Tricare (and now Medicare).  But I did come out to my military primary care provider a while back and they were able to both support and provide referral for gender therapy.  Also, if you have a Planned Parenthood in your area they sometimes offer similar services. But (for now) the community of health care providers should be able to (and required) to provide assistance in Gender Affirming Care.

      That is just so Wonderful, Joanne!  Congratulations! and I'm very happy for you.  Thank you for sharing this positive and affirming experience with all of us.

      This is a positive, especially considering the long history of Transgender members serving (although not openly until recently).

      We had a discussion about this topic last night in the Trans/Non-binary Zoom Support Group I facilitate.  There was a common theme for myself and others in the group -- Striving to spend time on Creative endeavors - music, art, dance, etc. - or activities where we feel our True Self as the most helpful. Also the idea that there is actually very little we can do to influence the negativity so making an effort to avoid it as much as possible. I don't read/engage in political topics on social media, and I rarely watch the news much anymore.  I much prefer all the PBS cooking shows (and Antiques Road Show)
