As for the work thing, it’s best if you attain some confidence.  Either socially or in the work role.  Then you can act more naturally (although with a mind towards presenting yourself)

Hi I have obsessed on passing.  Maybe less so nowadays.   I worked at a large company because they had benefits/ that paid for procedures- that pass me.  I started there in my current gender and name so there was no history.   Seems that in work, and life, I move on and start over,  And over.  But through this process my life has improved!   So glad to be able to do this.     Think on it, sure, but hopefully however you decide to live and work improves things for you😊

Amen! No intermediary like a Pope, Priest, Pastor or other believers interpretation needed. The Lord does not dwell in temples, my faith is vital to me, and is coming with me in parallel with my transitioning journey.
    • Ivy
I have seen some places dropping the gendered designations.  Trader Joes has been this way for years.

The law here is that any one-holer must be labelled as all-gender.  That is a sensible requirement, and should be the law everywhere.

Update: The day of my doctor's appointment, didn't go quite as I planned, my stuttering got in the way, and to make matters worse, is having a treating doctor rush my sentences when I'm trying to pronounce the words, which is why I stored everything I wanted to say on flash drive, to give to the treating doctor(s) for review and correct my records. During our conversation, at first, she rejected me giving her the flash drive.. "oh that's okay I have everything here on my laptop" she replied to me, at that moment is when I thought to myself oh here, I go again dealing with treating physicians who only relies on their medical training, and not listening to the patient.       Anyway, somehow made it through my appointment, there was a brief moment she left me in the patient room, then she returned with more women entering the room lol I started to get the feeling, no matter how hard I try to be accepted, the other women in the room made sure to pushed me back in the box (so to speak) whatever they say is more important than my rights.

In addition, I saw a specialist yesterday and their restroom was multi use as well.    If it's single occupancy, it just seems better to label them as such. You simple grab the first one available.
    • Birdie
Perhaps following some regions in France where all restrooms have got multi use?

Sorry for my sarcasm. It's just that the stated goal (in private) of all this is our elimination.  With that in mind, it's hard to see these sort of things a "reasonable" solutions.

I guess they could always put a Porta John in the parking lot.

I think the letters in both directions have been well written and respectful.  And I'm glad to see that there has been no outright rejection.   Personally, I had to leave christianity to be free enough to embrace who I am.  But I realize that that is not the case for everyone.  I don't "proselytize" for non-christianity. I also know that some christians are truly concerned for my soul, rather than just condemning me because I deserve it.  A couple of days ago I was in the waiting area at the VA (in a dress of course).  A nice lady came over and told me how Jesus loved me and all that.   She was very friendly, and I actually did appreciate her concern.  But I have had to go through a lot to get to the place where I am. I have family who are christian, and family who are not.  I get along with both.  The one that won't let me around her kids (my grandkids)…  that's all on her.  I'm not mad at her, but it does hurt.  I guess she feels like she is doing the godly thing.

Note the qualifying term "multi-occupancy."  They are not prohibiting individual bathroom facilities that are multi-gender.

I think this was a really good response!  You can deal with the faith issue at another time later on, if that's your wish.  Your uncle is bringing it up because he cares for you.  He believes deeply in the Christian faith and the afterlife, so he wants the best for you.  You can understand him in a positive way 😊

Bathroom bans. Seems like they're trying to beat back a charging revolutionary transition army by insulting their handbags—ain't gonna work.

@JL   i don’t think this is the time for anyone to point out anything about what the Bible says or means.  That’s another conversation for another time.   I agree that right now being polite as he was to you and accepting him in your life as welcoming, even thanking him for his concerns is the appropriate first response.     We or I can help you with church and Bible sources that allow you to be who you are, not the least of which is Gods grace given to everyone through Jesus Christ.

Forget about finding religion. What you need to find is a personal relationship with God and our  Savior, Jesus Christ. Your uncle gave you some good advice. Go to a quiet place and ask The Holy Spirit for guidance and forgiveness of sins. Every living person on this planet is a sinner so don't feel that you are being singled out as a bad person. You can speak these words aloud or in your mind. It doesn't matter which. Confess to your sins and ask our Lord, Jesus to come into your heart and ask for forgiveness and He will forgive you. It's as simple as that if it is done with sincerity.  These are some Bible verses that may be helpful for you.   https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew 11:28-30&version=NIV https://biblehub.com/john/14-6.htm https://www.bing.com/search?q=for+by+faith+we+are+saved&pc=GD01&form=GDAVST&ptag=6502   I know there are many here who will scoff and tell you that this is a crock of BS but just know that I am telling you the truth. I pray that you will find salvation as I and multitudes of others have done   MaryEllen

There must be some, but I don't think I actually know of a case where a guy has "transitioned" to molest women in a bathroom.  But this is used as an excuse to call for the eradication of a whole group of people. Sometimes it feels like there is no reality anymore.
    • Ivy
It seems a bit crazy to me that litigation over these laws usually involves some kind of technicality rather than what the laws actually do. Guess that's why I'm not a lawyer, that and of course, law school.
