Thanks Carolyn Marie,  I wouldn't normally tell strangers,  but she was from the NHS,  (that's our national health service.) She needed my national health records which are still under John, so thought I needed to tell her? It's a big boost when you get compliments like that, I'm feeling more confident and stronger every day. The weather in the uk is glorious this week and I've got the week off work. I'm enjoying the rare sunshine by doing my garden. I was out in my front garden the ither day, next door had a bouncy castle for the kids, they were all out on it. I haven't told any of my neighbours,  I don't really speak to any, I usually keep myself to myself? I don't know if she was talking to me or one of the others,  there was about 5 or six kids and 3 adults? But one of the kids, she was about 7-8 years old,  shouted,  " can I just say, you look lovely today?" I didn't say anything and just carried on digging my weeds out. But deep inside,  I was buzzing,  if she was talking to me, lol? Thanks  hugs and kisses 🥰  Joanne

That's great, @Joanne Grace, and I can certainly see why you're excited and thrilled with the compliments.  Congrats!  You do look great in that pic.   I would caution you about coming out to random strangers, though.  I guess it worked out well this time.  It's not something I would do, but we're all different and have different levels of anxiety about personal safety.    Carolyn Marie

There are so many people out there telling us who we are or aren’t, it makes it difficult to see and feel the easy things. The things that should make you happy can be cloaked in shame; that refracted shadow we can wallow in, though the shade is cast from others we make it our own pain. Hi girls,   I had a big boost to my confidence today,  I was standing in my front garden waiting for a parcel,  when a lady from the NHS doing a promo, stopped, it's a scheme to get your prescriptions sent to your house instead of having to pick them up from the chemist/ drug store in the USA,  lol? Anyway,  she was asking whst prescriptions I have, so I told her, they are my HRT,  because im trans. And she looked at me and said, what! So I said I'm transgender. And she said wow! you go girl! She said she never would have known if I hadn't of told her? She said I look amazing, I said  I only came out last year and I'm 62. She said wow! You look better than me, lol? I said I hate it when I have to take my wig off because im bald? So she said,  that's not your hair? I said, no, I'm bald, lol. When she left, I went in and shouted,  wooh hoo! Yes. I think the hormones are working,  lol? I'm loving it! Hugs and kisses 🥰

So I did show up well for the housing interview. It went great. Yay! I didn't even have much of a tremor, which is good because I filled out forms for 1.5 hours, but with excellent help and care from an assistant. Glad I can do that, even with fears about it. Fears are always less than they appear to be at first. Reality, I can deal with. Sigh. Now for a nap while I wait for my friend, Alex, to visit soon.

I world say my sense of style is also rooted in my generational experience - we might have similar tastes in that respect. I find the recent 90s revival in fashion amusing...and of course not really accurate lol. I also related to your acknowledgement of questioning whether you're experiencing attraction or gender envy. And similar to you, it took me until well into my 40s to come around to coming out due to lack of knowledge about nonbinary identity & gender spectrum. I look forward to hearing more from you. Thank you for sharing your story with us. We are each unique but also share commonalities. It is sad that society puts us into gender-defined boxes by the clothing we wear. I love your thought about how can it be crossdressing if it is affirming? it is, truly, just an expression of who we are.   I'm sure others will jump in but I wanted to say, once more, welcome to TGP!!!
