Not just weird but such a rude way to treat a customer ... I know many cis-men with very feminine voices (and I JEALOUS!!) and I assume they also get misgendered. My voice might be my biggest dsyphoria trigger and the mostly likely cause of too frequent mis-gendering.  Yesterday when I ordered at a Burger King drive-through the person taking my order said "Thank you, Sir".  I corrected him and he apologized and said "Ma'am". But I have never of the opposite happen and talking on the phone always makes me concerned.  If a person or agency I know I will have to connect with again in the future I just declare myself as a Transwoman and my preferred name/pronouns .... I do start Vocal Therapy sessions in July.  I hope it helps.

"the family court noted that the special law is designed to prevent same-sex marriages," This is the basic problem and shows how far behind Japan is in LGBTQ+ issues (not just Trans).  I know at least one person personally that has faced this dilemma.  And if there was ever any hope for my wife and I to reunite, I would be in the same situation.   The good news is this is not the first time the laws have been challenged and hopefully it will give others courage to do the same.  New ideas and cultures face different obstacles there, but the struggles for individuals feel familar.

it seems like you really want an exact answer to the literal questions in your post so im going to step back and try to do that   1. Do you think I should switch to injectables instead of waisting more time with experimentation?   no i don't think so. people put too much emphasis on the method of administration, as long as your levels are roughly in the right place it doesn't matter imo   2. Do you think my transition goals are achievable for me based on what I currently look like and based on the steps I want to take to realize them?   you say "My goal is to become a cispassing trans woman who is close to being conventionally attractive." you already pass pretty well depending on lighting, clothing, and hair (don't accuse me of lying bc im not. i understand if you don't agree but im giving you my honest opinion) so yes, your transition goal is achievable because you're basically there already   you also say "To achieve this goal, I am going to undergo Facial Feminization Surgery, permanent full body hair removal with laser, saggy skin removal (I have lost a lot of weight), supercharged BBL, waist-narrowing surgery, and breast augmentation." your pics mostly show your face and not your body so its hard to judge this part, however i would be cautious going down this route because i think you can meet your transition goals without all those surgeries given how you look right now. additionally, if one if your transition goals is to be safe from straight people, i think getting a bbl and ba might not really help you. ""conventionally attractive"" women get harassed too

People really misgender over the phone.  And bad phone signal doesn't help, either.     Cis people have it happen a lot, so it isn't unique to being trans.  My husband doesn't have the deepest voice.  Not feminine, but not like Brad Garrett (actor from Everybody Loves Raymond).  Occasionally people think he's an older lady until they look at his name.  Its really odd.  My GF has a rather raspy voice.  Not particularly deep or like a smoker's voice, but not smooth like you'd expect a woman to be.  She gets misgendered too.     And then there's times where voice doesn't matter.  For me, I have a female voice.  Not really high, but it won't ever be manly.  But in my boy form, it just makes me seem young rather than female.  People just assume I'm a teenage boy who hasn't had a voice change yet.  Then they look at my very real state driver's license, and absolutely **swear** it has to be fake.  Even with my birth gender "F" still printed on it.   

Good post...glad you brought it back where I could look at it.  It matches a couple of my own observations:     First, if you're looking for something...you WILL find it, whether it is there or not.  We are seeing this happen now in the USA where people are suddenly hyper-aware of the existence of trans folks, and so they are identifying cis women as trans and causing trouble about it.  God forbid a cis woman have a strong jawline or broad shoulders, she's gonna get accused of being trans.    Second, the majority of people aren't looking.  It may be a little less true at the moment because of the hyper-awareness of the trans issue, but it will eventually go back to normal.  Most people are not actively watching everybody around them.  They're talking with the clerk at the store, or they are driving, or checking out something specific.  Much of the time in warm weather, I wear as little clothing as possible.  Often shirtless, just shorts and sandals.  I swear I could almost walk around naked without much comment.  People are totally glued to their phones.

There may be a nuanced language barrier thing that is somehow part of the issue here.

I hope so. I did talk about things briefly with my current therapist and he thinks its worth pursuing. I'm working though other stuff with him right now but looking at options for the future.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I am looking at therapy options for the future. I'm still very nervous about moving forward but the more I look into things, and talk about it, the more it feels like the right idea.

Since your main transition goal is to pass, I don’t see how we can answer that question without assessing to what degree you pass now. 

When you learn classical ballet, you need to be flexible so sometimes we reach a point where we do not push ourselves hard enough, or if we get lazy, you usually end up being partnered with someone that is above your flexible range, ballet is all about control and coordination. When someone else is stretching you, you cannot feel their pain and vice versa, you then change your mind set to work through the point of pain! how does this work, well if you think about the pain you are in and you know you cannot get out you have to find a way to relax and go through the point of pain, eventually you will become more flexible, but its also about trust too  

Phone conversations and being misgendered is a main reason I've invested so much of myself into my voice work.   It's hard when people make a deal of incongruity, "A boy named Sue?!"

I think the piercing isn't too difficult to do.  One of my partners does the work on me.  She doesn't do it professionally, but she does it quite a bit for our community.  We have a custom of married women getting a VCH piercing.  So she has done a lot of them on women who are getting ready for their wedding, or have recently married.   The one in your photo looks a lot like mine, although my stuff is yellow gold.  I'm a bit sparkly compared to what's expected for a boy, but I do my own thing.      Haha I can imagine them being uncomfortable in a couple of ways.... a healing piercing AND the masculinity issues   Lots of guys (especially young ones) seem to get piercings these days, but the belly button piercing is primarily a female thing.

When people are telling you that you're passing, it is our way of saying that you're already at least partially achieving your goals.  Its a good sign, letting you know that your heartfelt goals are truly possible.  There's a lot of hope!   Remember that not everybody has that.  Some people have no hope of passing, no matter how hard they try.  For me, I have to accept that I'm in my 30s and look like a tiny teenager.... my doctors tell me that my unique intersex body isn't safe for surgery, even if I wanted it.  Some of us have to accept limitations like that.  I definitely get some feelings of dysphoria and frustration!  A lot of people in this community feel it.      Fortunately for you, it seems that there are opportunities.  You can mold your future to be the way you want it, and you're already part of the way there.  I think it is a good reason for thankfulness and positivity.  I hope that as time goes on, your dysphoria is reduced and you can live the live you desire. 

This is most likely the case.  There aren't federal agents behind every bush.  Notice how the recent immigration crackdown often relies on local law enforcement, and they are requesting military involvement because there simply aren't enough federal personnel to do much about it.  Enforcement is going to be patchwork at best.  It is amazing how much of what the feds want can be resisted by local authorities dragging their feet, or even outright resistance.     The best guide to whether you're safe or not is going to be the attitudes of your local police.  For me, I'm not worried because my sister is the elected township constable.  Our county sheriff is a family friend.  Law enforcement here is busy handling real problems.  A good sheriff can act as a shield against state and federal overreach, and its why the office of sheriff is an elected one.  They answer to local voters, not to the state.  Its a huge component of our checks and balances.       Same for me.  I'm not leaving.  I have lived my entire life in two counties of my state.  I've traveled some, but I can't see living anywhere else.  Quality of life here is really good, and I don't see myself fitting in as well in another place.  My family is also here, and all my friends.  My husband's family has owned his land since before the Civil War....there's even a statue of one of his ancestors in the town square.  With a huge family and deep roots like that, moving isn't going to happen unless its the Apocalypse.    I don't think the government will be going door to door searching for trans people.  But if they do, I think they're going to face some issues.  Passive noncooperation is guaranteed, and stiff resistance is possible.  This ain't Germany in the 1930s.    

My understanding is that that is being challenged in Maine.  The outcome of that case may be significant.  Or not.   Either way, try to stay hopeful.
