Almost 1am, so I guess its morning....   I spent Friday evening with my friends.  We went out for pizza and drinks, just to relax for a while.  Most of my family went to Good Friday service at our community's temple, but I was naughty and opted out.  I'm just not feeling the love right now, mostly because of how GF is acting lately.  No idea when she's coming home, and definitely mixed feelings about when she comes back.  I won't hear anything for a while, since right now she's probably on a cargo freighter in the Black Sea.    Looks like it will rain all weekend.  My husband's father always claims that if it rains on Easter, it will rain for seven Sundays.  We often get a sort of weekly pattern in the spring, but usually not for seven weeks.  Just enough to mess up our ability to work outdoors on the weekend.  Sad we can't just schedule the rain for Tuesday overnight

Was... over a century ago.  Certainly not now.  If it wasn't for the USA, Britain and France would be speaking German.  Both Britain's salvation in WW1/WW2 and the undoing of the Empire were started way back in 1776.  It is a huge mystery to me why so many Americans still seem like they want to "run home to mama" and express support for or interest in Britain.      And thank God for that.  My heritage is Greek, and my chosen family is quite multicultural with 7 languages spoken in our home.  Its kind of chaotic, just like the USA.  That can be both good and bad.  Good, if we have a common identity.  Bad if we let our diversity divide us.  Its all in how we approach it.    Sometimes I like how Trump approaches foreign policy.  Its nice to have our national interests put in first place for a change.  Its nice to not have to be the ATM for the whole world.  But then there's dumb things like this... focusing on LGBTQ+ stuff in international relations when it isn't an international issue.  We'd do so much better to avoid strange things like this.

https://apnews.com/article/transgender-passports-trump-executive-order-ee211c3298f0c6f561f829cf5adca281   This is good, but it only affects those plaintiffs from that one jurisdiction.  We'll have to wait on other cases to be adjudicated.  One small step for a trans, one giant leap...   Carolyn Marie

Are you from the USA or the UK? In the uk we had the right to use the fertility that corresponded with our gender, this new ruling from the supreme Court has said a transgender woman can't use single sex fertility, ie; a women's toilet,  because we are not being recognised as a woman anymore? All the work we've done to get Are right to be Are preferred gender had gone down the pan, pardon the pun? I've told my boss when I came out to her, that I would use the disabled toilet,  but everytime I've gone to use it, it's locked?  Very frustrating,  hugs and kisses,  Joanne 🥰

Wanting to know a bit more about me? I'll oblige; I'm a trans guy who is mentally disabled and from the US. I love making art and writing, making and reading comics as well. I'm autistic and have special interests in Tokusatsu (think Power Rangers, Super Sentai, stuff of that sort), Puyo Puyo, Persona, Obey Me, and Twisted Wonderland. I am more than one (plural system) and consider myself a polyfragmented DID system of many. I work part time at an airport. I am happy to see you all here. As for the name; Alchemist Dreamer is my gamer tag typically spelled: alchemistDreamer.   The Alchemist part is that I'm naturally drawn to magic types and I myself am considered a modern day alchemist by using my own energy and logic to process and produce my emotions in my own way. The Dreamer aspect is that I aspire to be more and have big ambitions.

Hi & welcome @BunnyRobin! I've definitely met some lovely friends and learned a lot about myself as a member of this community. I hope you will too. Peace & love to you.

Something just happened and I feel a bit disturbed about it. So, sharing here to process. My husband and I plan to take a vacation in a few weeks. We want to bring our pup, so we determined a location in-state, in the state of Florida, that we could drive to. Central Gulf Coast area, lots of nature to enjoy. Doing some research, I found a couple nicer restaurants that looked good to try for dinner. I noticed a lot of places in the area are only open on limited days/hours & these places were no different. They both recommended reservations. Now before I continue the story, note that my legal given name is a feminine name. So, I call the first place and get a friendly woman on the phone. She's chatty and informal and calling me hon, etc. She asked for my name, which I told her, (first name) (last name), to which she immediately replied, "you don't sound like (first name) (last name)!" I thought, what a weird thing to say, but I'm cool with weird so I'll play along. I asked in a friendly tone, who do I sound like? She paused for a second and said, you sound like a woman! My brain was processing - did she mishear my given name as a masculine name, and repeating back to me I didn't notice? And even if she did, and say I WAS presenting with a masculine name, she was just emboldened like that to contradict what she thought I was implying? But even if she did mishear my name as a masculine name and took me for a woman by the sound of my voice, why not just accept that maybe a "woman" (which evidently she thought I was, and which I'm not but that's my own business) could have that name too. It felt not good. It kinda made me want to say, okay let's just forget the reservation thanks anyway. I just didn't say anything. It was awkward. I think some part of me wanted her to deal with the awkward on her own because it was, after all, totally on her - I had no inclination to engage at that moment. She recovered and continued to be friendly, confirmed the details, and then wished me a happy day. I returned the wishes and that was it. Still feel weird about it though. The not cool kind of weird.

Hello, I just joined and figured I would make an intro post. My names Robin and I'm a disabled, nonbinary (possibly demiboy) person from the UK. I joined up so I could have a space to talk about gender and identity with some like-minded people. I love to draw, play games and spend time with my friends and partner. Sometimes, I can be a little shy, but I'm trying more and more to push myself into making more connections. I'm looking forward to talking to people and maybe in doing so learn more about myself. Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

Yes, but I can't really afford it, sigh.

I certainly do not dispute that the US is a direct descendent of the UK.    In a lot of ways the American revolution was an internal dispute between British factions.  However American culture also has a lot of non-British elements.   Many people are fine with authoritarian government as long as it is in line with their personal preferences.  For some reason the mere presence of conflicting ideas is seen as a threat to be ruthlessly stamped out.  That's what's behind this absurd idea of a "transgender agenda."  All we really want is the right to exist in peace.  But to too many, that's unacceptable.
