Well, one of my friends is in our defense force here.  She's trans.  Small.  Adorable.  Able to hit a soda can at 800 yards in any weather.  I'd say that's effective and lethal enough.  I'd be interested to know how many soldiers can do that...

having had no boy friends or girl friends, i hated my body so much, I finally stopped eating and it did not matter if it was night or day, i ended up in hospital, i had self harmed but did not want to talk about it. Over time, like all things i opened up but was still frightened, because it did not make sense, for me i wanted to try and understand, after chromosome tests and psychometric and various other tests, i was still no closer to confronting and dealing with the internal torture, I knew what it was not but eventually another hospital stay and after the reports of the first and second episode, it was decided i best confront my thoughts. Going to the gender id clinic and meeting the psychiatrist from hell. I thought it odd that someone whom worked in a maximum secure mental health hospital, should work in a gender id clinic, sometimes i thought she was still at the main job, a real control freak.

I used prescription strength Minoxidil and Finasteride to fill in some spots that had thinned over the years with very good results. You can do an online physician's consult through sites like Hers and Hims if interested in potentially trying that.

Hi! I was wondering if you could tell me how it went with minoxidil and finasteride. I tried it for 6 months and saw some results but was told to stop it.

I tried minoxidil and finasteride together and saw some good results.

Hi! Has anyone dealt with hair loss. I have two big patches of alopecia areata and are getting treatment for it with good response to the treatment but I’m noticing a general hair loss as I’m trying to grow my hair out. I’m trying high dose Biotin but haven’t seen much success. Anyone can relate? Has any suggestions.  ps. I know large dose biotin increases your estrogen blood results (inaccurately) but I’m ok with that since I’m not in a high dose as is.

Hi Andea welcome to the forums.  I’m in a similar position. Although married to queer guy, the struggles with not just acceptance but full support from my partner has been difficult to navigate.  I see you are very aware of the time it takes to process and “get on board” with all of it. (Heck even with some of it) I had to stick to my convictions about who I am and believe in my agency so I started hrt right away at a small dosage “just to see how I felt on it. And just starting it felt like a huge step in the right direction.  HRT helped me gain a lot of confidence to continue my path.  I kept reminding myself to allow my partner time to process all of it. And my patience has paid off. At first it seemed (to me) that my partner would not get to the point where we would have a chance to remain together.  I’ve been on HRT for 18 months and we’ve had ups and downs but we remain open and we have difficult conversations. We had a huge super honest conversation about how we both felt (a year into HRT) and it took us to a whole new level of closeness. We’re still working on it all but just getting to this point feels reassuring.  And to be honest I’m going for a more androgynous version of myself (as of now) but have had many thoughts about top and bottom surgery. I’m 50 so I’m not sure that’s in the cards for me at this point.   if you’d like to chat some more, I’d love to keep a conversation going with you  I hope you’re doing well  hugs

I have my first telephone consultation with a therapist in 2 hours. Exciting and terrifying. Makes the whole thing more real. It was the next recommended step from a number of folks in here. Thanks 🙏 🙏

Yes.  However they rule is going to piss off somebody.

I sure hope that this trickles down to the VA. While I am pretty much unaffected newly diagnosed Vets may not be so lucky.   Kymmie

Well, I'm seriously glad to see this: "The Pentagon will resume gender-affirming care for transgender service members, according to a memo obtained by POLITICO, an embarrassing setback to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s efforts to restrict their participation."
